I have never experienced this, but I know it is not that uncommon, and you are on the right track by finding people to talk about it. I didn't want to just read and leave without saying something.. I wish I knew more about anxiety, but I'm sure someone will have had experience with it and be able to give you some advice. Joining forums online to talk about it, and staying connected with friends and family in your everyday life is the best thing you can do. You will also want to talk to your doctor about it at your first pregnancy visit. Don't let them rush you through the exam without getting your concerns heard!

Hi. I have been struggling with panic and anxiety disorders for several years now. Granted I just found out I was pregnant about 3 hours ago.. lol.. I still think we could benefit alot from talking. I have been having an attack for about an hour now.. My chest is tight... my heart is racing.. I'm sweating but im cold.. i feel like i need to breathe but I'm struggling. Now I know this is just a panic attack and that I am not dying. One thing I have learned from educating myself on these disorders is not to freak out more then your body is already freaking out. I am telling myself that this is normal.. and probably people that dont even have a history of panic attacks have some sort of an attack when they first find out.. But for people like us, I am worried that my anxiety will go out of control during this pregnancy. Especially this being my first and it was not planned.. and I am just in shock. If you need someone to talk to, share experiences, help calm your fears, etc..... I am here.. and more then happy to make a new friend. Especially one that I share this horrible and irritating disorder with! brean082@yahoo.com
